Sestier
Armonico
The ensemble Sestier Armonico was founded in 2021 with the project “The Harpsichord Concertos by Vivaldi and Marcello”, curated by Giulio De Nardo.

The members of the ensemble first met in Basel during their years of study at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, sharing the same passion and deep interest in early music and its performance on original instruments.

In March 2025 the CD "Il Suono Ritrovato" was released, focusing on A. Vivaldi’s repertoire for obbligato organ, including the concertos for violin and organ RV 554, 541, 767, 766, and the Sonata RV 779 for violin, oboe, organ, and chalumeau.

The CD has received several awards and recognitions, including “5 stars” from the magazines Klassik Heute, Online Merker, and Ritmo, “Exceptional” from Scherzo, and a nomination for the "Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik" in the “Concertos” category.

We experience Vivaldi’s music
with its subtle shifts between major and minor,
with harmonies flooded with light and delicate veils of melancholy,
always rhythmically elegant, imbued with gentle passion
and painted in a refined palette of sound.

The phrasing of Sestier Armonico is precise and highly detailed,
and above all lends the music great transparency (...).
The sound of Rado’s violin
-ever-present as a soloist- is equally pure and clear.

From the very first track,
the adjective that comes to mind to describe this CD is:
extraordinary.
Its interpretative quality, musicological rigour, meticulous editing,
and excellent sound recording
make it a benchmark for listening to Vivaldi’s organ works
in the most authentic way possible.
